The new 2015 Ford F150 features many design, technology, materials and manufacturing processes that will produce the smartest and most capable half ton truck on the market. The Ford engineers are exploring every detail of the new F150 to give truck owners the dependability, performance and value that has made the F-Series truck the best selling truck in America for 37 years running.
Seamless Sliding Rear Window
The seamless sliding rear window design was developed through an association with Ford Motor Company and Magna International. The innovative design hides window seams and reduces overall component parts. Even with the window open the 2-piece design allows the larger rear window area to continually defrost as if completely closed.
The typical sliding rear window consists of three pieces of glass held together by a support structure with additional working components. This new seamless rear window design opens and closes with the touch of a button and offers a crisp clean look whether open or closed. This new design also uses a lighter window control module that helps contribute to the overall weight reduction of up to 700 lbs while maintaining the same rear window opening size as the previous model F150.
