For 18 years Strategic Vision has been conducting their Total Quality Index Study. Strategic Vision is a research firm with over 35 years of experience measuring consumer behavior and product performance. In The 2013 Total Quality Awards™ the Ford Fusion scored highest in the mid-size car segment. The Total Quality Index™ or TQI uses over 442 variables to score consumers behaviors with new 2013 cars and trucks.
Sales of the 2013 Ford Fusion would seem to back up the Study’s findings as the 24% increase in April 2013 vs April 2012 sales for the popular sedan continue to rise. The mid-size car market is a very competitive segment that until recently was dominated by the imports. The new Ford Fusion has been a big factor in the return to prominence for domestic car makers.
The Ford Fusion came out on top against some strong competition including the Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Jetta Sedan, Buick Verano, Kia Optima, Hyundai Sonata and the Subaru Legacy. The Chevy Volt finished a close second to the Fusion. You can see the rankings for the mid-size car segment by clicking here. (more…)

Technicians were graded in five different categories showing their own repair skills as well as their ability to lead and mentor others.
Ford PTS Performance Challenge Criteria
- Technical training
- Fixed Right the First Time Performance
- Retail Sales
- Customer Viewpoint Scores
- Mentoring Other Technicians
Longhorn Ford is honored to have two Ford PTS Performance Challenge Award recipients. Most Ford dealers did not have a single technician qualify so we are extremely proud of our Ford Master Technicians Kevin Blalock and Terry Turner. Both men earned this highly regarded designation and will be the guests of Ford Motor Company in Michigan.
All of the nationwide winners will be flown to Dearborn, Michigan to tour the Ford facilities and meet with Ford product engineers. The duo will also participate in the Ford Technical Hotline and provide valuable feedback to the Ford Service Division staff.
Once again we want to congratulate Kevin and Terry for earning this elite honor from Ford Motor Company.
